divn w/Kaptan Rawjr & the duck

I haven't been keeping up on our dive posts, SORRY, 2 tard when I git bak. Sandy won't help clean our gear or the boat so it is late when Roger & I finish.

Anywho, no divn 2day.

Yesterday, WE B DIVN ! Sat. ( 05 / 24 / 2008 ) was another great day 2 b alive & on the watr. For the 1st time in a L - O - N - G time the Gulf Stream was close 2 the shore and the visibility was fantastic. When we exited Vaca Cut into Hawk's Channel we could see the bottom clearly as close as 100 yards from shore. The farther out we went the vis kept increasing. We were in 30 ft. of water & could see the bottom as if we were looking across the yard on a clear day.
We did several dives ( 4 or 5 ) but some were rather brief as the sea floor was barren of coral heads, etc.
Since my metal detector is headed 4 the shop, Capt. Roger was on his own 2 find the treasure AND HE DID ! On our 3rd dive he hit on a giant metallic object. After a bit of gently moving some sand he decided to just photograph part of the object & leave it to b observed by all. It may b an old ship's anchor from the fleet that sunk during a hurricane in the 1500's.
I saw the largest star fish I have seen 2 date. It was at least 2' across from tip to tip.
Water temp was 84 - 86, no waves, a fairly strong current but all in all a great day 2 be alive, on & undr the water.
When Kapetan R snds me some pics I will post 'em.
B safe.
Come & visit.
Lettuce go divn.
Snd money.
